Sending invoices

Invoices are created with standard Business Central functionality and leave the system as PEPPOL 3 (EHF) documents. There are two ways to get a posted invoice to the access point.

Post the invoice and send it to the access point in one action. Use this when the invoice should go out immediately.

Post the invoice without sending. The job queue then sends it and later fetches its distribution status from the access point. Use this when invoices are posted in batches or by users who should not be waiting on the send.

A posted invoice that has not been sent yet shows Status Pending on the Posted Sales Invoices list. To send a single one ahead of the job queue, open it and choose Print/Send → Resend.

The job queue is configured under Administration → Job queue.

Once the access point has the invoice, delivery depends on the recipient — see Delivery methods. Progress is reported back into Business Central — see Distribution status.
